OMICRON VARIANT SPARKS GLOBAL FEARS

Health officials around the world are closely monitoring what has been labeled by scientists as the worst variant of COVID-19 to have so far emerged.
The variant which was identified in South Africa just days ago, has been classified as a variant of concern and given the name Omicron, the 15th letter of the Greek Alphabet.
Scientists are concerned this is the most heavily-mutated variant so far, with twice as many mutations as the Delta variant.
