OVER 500 BABIES SCREENED FOR SICKLE CELL DISEASE

No newborns had full blown sickle cell disease in Antigua and Barbuda between September to December 2020.
That’s when the country started to carry out mandatory screening under the Universal Health Screening for Newborns Programme.
Our reporter sought an update from Head of the Paediatric Department at MSJMC, Dr. Shivon Belle-Jarvis.
