OVERSEAS NURSES TO PROVIDE SHORT-TERM RELIEF AMID CHRONIC SHORTAGE AT SLBMC
The Health Ministry is set to engage the services of nurses from countries in Africa and Asia to provide a short-term fix for the shortage at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
Officials say this is necessary while local nurses are being trained at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus to permanently fill the roles.
The announcement was made during a news conference at the Ministry’s headquarters in St John’s on Tuesday.
