Both sides of the political divide in Parliament’s Lower House paid tribute to the late Eustace ‘Teco’ Lake early Friday.

Lake, a former parliamentarian, died February 20, 2026, after a long illness and will be laid to rest following an official funeral next Monday at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church.

He had contested and won the St. John Rural South seat in both the 2009 and 2014 general elections and served as Minister for Public Works and Housing during his service to the nation.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne; Lake’s successor in the constituency, Hon. Daryll S. Matthew; Attorney General, Hon. Sir Steadroy Benjamin; and Opposition Leader, Hon. Jamale Pringle, all hailed the late Minister’s contribution to the House.  They pointed to his generosity of spirit and indelible contribution, with Prime Minister Browne saying, “We’ve lost a brother and we’ve lost a friend.”
