PARLIAMENTARY SELECT COMMITTEE PORES OVER PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO STRENGTHEN CIP

A regional effort to harmonise and tighten the rules governing Citizenship by Investment Programmes across the OECS took a major step forward on Tuesday.

A select committee of Antigua and Barbuda’s Parliament met for the first time to conduct a detailed review of a new bill.

The proposed legislation has been developed following consultations with the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and the European Union, seeks to assuage the concerns of the Global North about the region’s programmes.
