PARLIAMENT’S LOWER HOUSE GREENLIGHT’S INCREASED VEHICLE LICENSING FEES

The increase in vehicle licensing fees has cleared its first legislative hurdle, after Parliament’s Lower House passed an Amendment to the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act on Monday.

The Government says the extra funds will help secure a XCD$100M loan to accelerate road repairs across the country.

There was intense debate as the government fended off blistering criticisms from the opposition.
