PASTOR ACQUITTED OF SERIOUS INDECENCY

A pastor has been acquitted of sex-related offences.

He had been on trial in the high court for two counts of Serious Indecency, but walked free when a jury of eight women and one man returned a verdict of not guilty Thursday afternoon.

The jury deliberated for over three hours.

The 40-year-old man had been accused of having oral sex with an adult female member of his congregation without her consent, in March 2023.

He was represented by attorney Wendel Alexander, who used Biblical references, including the account of David and Uriah in the Old Testament, to make his case.
