PM BROWNE EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO INDIA’S PM MODI FOLLOWING RAIL TRAGEDY
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has sent a message of condolence to India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
It follows last week’s tragic rail accident which left at least 275 people dead and over 1000 others injured.
In his letter to Prime Minister Modi, Prime Minister Browne said that the loss of life, especially under circumstances like this, is always painful.
PM Browne also said: “At this time I wish to express my sincerest condolences to the Government and the people of India for this most catastrophic event.”
Prime Minister Browne also says Antigua and Barbuda stands united with the people of India and prayers are with the families of the victims of this most unfortunate tragedy.
Last Friday’s incident in Odisha state involved two passenger trains and a goods train.
