PM BROWNE NUDGES PSC TO PROMOTE SUPT QUASHIE TO DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

The Police Service Commission is being urged to promote Superintendent Louisa Benjamin Quashie to the rank of deputy police commissioner.

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne says he will not sign off on any promotion to deputy police commissioner unless the commission chooses the superintendent.

Superintendent Quashie is the first woman to serve as commandant of Sir Wright F. George Police Academy and the prime minister believes she has earned a seat at the senior management table.

He’s calling out what he sees as political bias holding her back.
