PM BROWNE PARTICIPATES IN HIGH-LEVEL ENGAGEMENTS IN THE UK
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has engaged in high-level engagements in the United Kingdom, including advancing discussions for a social mobility partnership.
The Prime Minister signed a memorandum with British social mobility activist David Harrison of the Harrison Centre for Social Mobility.
Harrison has pledged a multi-million pound sterling investment for a new-look Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education, ABICE.
The aim is to offer training for high-demand skills such as automotive and welding opportunities.
Education Minister Hon. Daryll Matthew was a speaker at the event along with Antigua and Barbuda’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Karen-Mae Hill.
Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Martin Cave was also present.
Ahead of that event, the Prime Minister attended a roundtable to discuss increasing capacity for tourism in the islands, raising the profile of the islands among senior figures in the United Kingdom travel industry, forging closer links with UK private equity investors and incubating a venture capital community in Antigua and Barbuda
