PM BROWNE REAFFIRMS A&B’S FOREIGN POLICY STANCE AHEAD OF TALKS WITH TOP US ADMIRAL
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne is maintaining his government’s position that the country remains a friend to all and an enemy of none, as he prepares to welcome Commander of the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), Admiral Alvin Holsey.
The US admiral will visit Antigua and Barbuda and Grenada between October 14-15.
A statement from the US Embassy for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean says he will meet with political and security officials in both nations, including Prime Ministers Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda Dickon Mitchell of Grenada.
This marks Admiral Holsey’s first visit to both nations since assuming command of SOUTHCOM last November.
The meetings will center on reaffirming the longstanding security collaboration with both nations and shared challenges that affect the eastern Caribbean, including transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking, and border security.
Prime Minister Browne spoke with ABS News Monday evening.
