PM BROWNE RECOVERS FROM COVID-19
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne confirms he has fully recovered from COVID-19 and praises the efficacy of vaccination against the viral infection.
He told ABS News on Good Friday he fully recovered within a week of contracting the coronavirus and experienced only mild congestion for a couple of days.
He makes it clear “vaccines work.” Prime Minister Browne indicates he physically chaired the cabinet meeting on Thursday after having worked remotely for most of the week.
The head of government tested positive for COVID-19 on April 8 and made the announcement on the Browne and Browne show on Pointe FM the following day.
Members of his family and other close contacts had tested negative for the virus.
Prime Minister Browne has consistently urged members of the populace who remain unvaccinated to avail themselves of the vaccines being administered to protect against serious illness.
The same message has also been promulgated by the World Health Organisation, whose officials say despite a decline in global deaths from the viral infection, still too many people are dying because they are unvaccinated.
