Prime Minister Gaston Browne used the opportunity of his attendance at the Investment Migration Council (IMC) Forum in Geneva Switzerland to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the organization.

Mr. Browne was in Geneva to participate in the annual IMC Forum, which saw all the leading stakeholders in the investment migration industry gather to analyze the state of the industry and strategize on the way forward.

As the feature speaker of the Forum, PM Browne addressed the plenary session on Wednesday afternoon with a speech that was very well received.

On Wednesday morning the Prime Minister sat with the chief executive of the Investment Migration Council Mr. Bruno L’Ecuyer at the Kempinski Hotel in downtown Geneva and they both signed the MOU that set out the mandate of the IMC to conduct research, prepare reports, lobby organizations and governments and handle communications on the issues related to the investment migration industry.

The MOU had been negotiated over the past few months between both sides and covers the IMC relationship with those countries that sign up on advocacy and policy issues.

‘The IMC is performing a critical function,’ PM Browne said, ‘and this initiative will strengthen our outreach to those whose policies can affect the industry for good or ill. We look forward to a strong collaborative relationship with the IMCthat will confront the issues that challenge an industry that brings so much benefit to our countries.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ambassador Colin Murdoch from the Office of the Prime Minister, and Patricia Cassola of the IMC.
