PM BROWNE SUGGESTS LEGISLATING BANKING SUPPORT FOR KEY SECTORS

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne believes banks should be mandated to make at least five per cent of their profits available for loan funding to key sectors, such as agriculture.

He urges fellow lawmakers in Parliament’s Lower House to consider adding this provision to proposed legislation that will shortly be debated. Prime Minister Browne argues this would be a part of a public interest policy to drive further development
