PM BROWNE WELCOMES NEW SWISS AMBASSADOR; SAYS EUROPEAN COUNTRY IS AN ECONOMIC MODEL

Ambassador Rita Hammerli-Weschke is Switzerland’s new top diplomat to Antigua and Barbuda.
She presented her credentials on Tuesday to Governor General Sir Rodney Williams before meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. E.P. Chet Greene and Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne.
Prime Minister Browne said Switzerland was one of the first countries to recognize Antigua and Barbuda as an independent state in 1981.
He noted there is room to strengthen the bilateral relations and sees the European country as a good economic model for the twin-island state.
