PM CONFIRMS ALFA NERO PROCEEDS USED TO PAY DEBTS

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne says the net amount of US$38 million which the Government received from the sale of the Alfa Nero super yacht has been used to pay down on the country’s debt.

Prime Minister Browne, who is also Finance Minister, tells ABS News the move is a strategic one.

The vessel sold for US$40 million, of which the government paid close to 2 million as a commission.
