PM DOUBLES DOWN IN YIDA SUPPORT

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has doubled down in his support of Yida Zhang of the Yida Development Project.
He says the criticism the project has been facing is political.

He says Antiguans should also support Zhang who’s now a citizen.

The investor says the criticism comes as some do not understand how special economic zones operate.

The 2015 Special Economic Zone Act says such spaces are created to promote self- contained, industrial, commercial and financial corporate offices and business centres.

The overall aim is to encourage economic development and job creation.
