PM GASTON BROWNE WINS ECSC DEFAMATION CASE

There’s been a major legal win for Prime Minister Gaston Browne in the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC). The Prime Minister was facing an appeal from Vere Bird III in a civil defamation case.

The court ruled, Wednesday, that Prime Minister Browne’s comments Mr. Bird benefited from an illegal cabinet decision to sell him crown lands at a rate reserved for parliamentarians was true, justified, and fair comment.
