PM SAYS NO EXCLUSIVITY WITH GLOBAL PORTS DEAL
Prime Minister Browne says other entities can be involved in port facility development despite the Global Ports deal.
The Prime Minister says a clause in the agreement had suggested exclusivity. He says this was signed as an oversight and changed following subsequent discussions.
Section 4, 3 of the Cruise Port Finance, Development and Management Bill gives the government the power to enter port arrangements with *other* businesses.
The bill also makes clear that the act will supersede if there’s any inconsistency between the act and the agreement.
