POLICE AWAIT LEGISLATIVE AMENDMENTS TO EXPAND USE OF LESS-LETHAL WEAPONS
The police force wants legislative amendments to allow for limited states of emergency to be declared, if the need arises.
The proposed amendments are also intended to cover the expanded use of less-lethal weapons by officers.
Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney says these are among the proposed amendments to the law governing the force, which will soon be debated by Parliament.
