Police Have Arrested Methoni Adolphus Vernon
Police have made a breakthrough in the Cassada Gardens race track murder case where a farmer was fatally shot on his farm two years ago.
Acting Police Commissioner, Wendell Robinson, says Methoni Vernon of Jamaica would soon be formally charged and taken before Chief Magistrate on a charge of murder.
Roy Carradice, a 47-year-old farmer who resided in Antigua for 18 years prior, was gunned down during the incident on his agricultural plot that sits close to the race track.
Commissioner Robinson told ABS NEWS that extensive intelligence led a highly covert investigation that revealed that Vernon was hiding out in Dominica, having left Antigua a few days after the murder occurred.
He was subsequently deported out of Dominica last Saturday to Jamaica by immigration authorities.
But while in transit in Antigua, he was intercepted by members Of The Rapid Response Unit at the VC Bird International Airport.-
