Post Graduate Courses On The Horizon For Mount St John’s Medical Centre

Plans are in motion to upgrade the teaching programme at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre to offer post-graduate courses at the institution.
The announcement comes from head of the Academic Programme Department at MSJMC, Dr George Mansoor, who says the aim is to allow interns at the hospital to complete advanced training there.

Dr Mansoor says the long-term plan is for the programme at MSJMC to become part of the new UWI Campus in Antigua when it is established. However, discussions are ongoing with the Medical School at the UWI Cave Hill Campus in Barbados on expanding the current programme.

According to Dr Mansoor…the current internship programme covers the four basic areas of medicine; pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery and medicine. Interns spend three months in each discipline.
