Powell, Simpson free to race after CAS cuts bans

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Jamaican sprinters Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson are free to resume racing after the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Monday partially upheld their appeals against 18-month doping bans.
The Switzerland-based body cut the bans to six months, a suspension already served by both runners.
Powell and Simpson were banned by the Jamaica Anti-doping disciplinary panel after testing positive for the banned substance Oxilofrine.
