PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCES FINANCIAL BOOST TO MUSEUM IN HONOUR OF SIR VERE

Prime Minister the Gaston Browne has committed major financial support to a Museum dedicated to the memory of the late father of the nation and national hero, Sir Vere Cornwall Bird.

He made the announcement during his address at this morning’s commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony at the VC Bird Bust on Market Street.

The Museum will be established at the former residence of Sir Vere at Tomlinson’s. It will be managed by a foundation that will be responsible for ensuring that the work and history of Sir Vere and the Labour movement is recorded and preserved.
