PRIME MINISTER BROWNE, HOUSING MINISTER TO ATTEND CORONATION OF KING CHARLES
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne and Housing Minister, the Hon. Maria Browne will depart for London on Wednesday, to attend the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey this Saturday.
Prime Minister Browne says Antigua and Barbuda celebrates the ascension to the throne of King Charles III as the head of state of the twin-island state and other member states of The Commonwealth.
Prime Minister Browne and Minister Browne will join several other heads of state and government at the event.
Their Excellencies, Governor General Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Williams are already in London, taking part in pre-coronation activities.
Two officers of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, Lieutenant Karl Jarvis and Sergeant Officer Daymie Daly, will accompany the Diamond Jubilee State Coach that will carry King Charles and Queen Camilla on Saturday.
The country’s delegation will also include independent senator Kiz Johnson, who will be a banner bearer, police commissioner, Atlee Rodney and permanent secretary in the office of the Governor General, Paula Frederick-Hunte.
