PRIME MINISTER FLAYS U.S. OVER POLICY TOWARD CUBA AND VENEZUELA
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has criticized the United States for its policies toward Cuba and Venezuela.
He chided Washington for its economic sanctions on Venezuela, including blocking the government in Caracas from accessing the U.S. financial system.
Prime Minister Browne also says these sanctions also hurt Caribbean countries which benefitted from the petrocaribe agreement, started under the late Hugo Chavez, the predecessor of current Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.
In relation to Cuba, Prime Minister Browne says Washington’s inclusion of the Caribbean country on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, is unjustified.
