PRIME MINISTER HON. GASTON BROWNE SIGNS AGREEMENTS FOR A&B TO BECOME CAF SHAREHOLDER
Antigua & Barbuda has taken a significant step toward becoming a shareholder member of CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, following the signing of two key agreements, which formalises the country’s intent. The signing of the Share Subscription Agreement and the Immunities and Privileges Agreement builds on the Letter of Intent signed last August at the United Nations SIDS 4 Conference in Antigua and Barbuda, which marked the beginning of the country’s partnership with CAF.
The agreements were signed on Wednesday 29 January 2025 between Hon Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Sergio Díaz-Granados, Executive President of CAF on the margins of the inaugural CAF International Economic Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean held in Panama City, Panama.
Antigua and Barbuda’s incorporation into CAF will unlock new avenues for financial resources and technical cooperation grants, empowering the nation to pursue its sustainable development goals and national development agenda priorities more effectively.
