PRIME MINISTER PROVIDES UPDATE ON ASSISTANCE TO POINT FIRE VICTIMS

One of last Thursday’s fire victims is already assured a new home as Prime Minister and St John’s City West Member of Parliament Hon. Gaston Browne announces help for the affected families.
The Prime Minister says he has had extensive discussions with the daughter of Calyponian Walter Lawrence, better known as “Mighty Leopard” whose family owns half of the plot of lands where the fire occurred.
Prime Minister Browne says a decade ago, Lawrence, who lives in the United States, invested 20 thousand dollars in a project he was doing and that investment has since doubled.
Prime Minister Browne says he has committed to help all the fire victims rebuild but says some would likely have to relocate.
