Promotion With Royal Police Force

A Promotion Board has been established within the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda to bring a more comprehensive approach to the promotion selection process.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Wendell Robinson, says this action was taken to create an air of holistic involvement with officers in the force when it comes to professional advancement.

Robinson says the decision was made during a meeting held with the rank and file of the force, where over 200 officers were in attendance. In his view, he notes, this was one of the largest meetings attended in a while.

He adds that the issue of promotion has always been a burning one, and moving forward, that will change.

The Acting Commissioner says currently, there are a number of vacant positions to be filled and recommendations will be made.
