PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS TO RECEIVE SALARY INCREASE THIS YEAR

The government has assured there will be pay increase to public sector workers by the end of this year.
Information Minister Hon. Melford Nicholas says this will be done even if negotiations with unions representing public sector workers are not completed by this time.
Public sector workers last received a 5 per cent wage increase in 2018 while negotiations with the unions had been continuing.
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne had indicated at the time that the interim pay rise was not intended to prejudice the negotiations, neither was it an indication of the government’s final offer.
