REPURPOSED FACILITY TO SERVE AS COOLIDGE FIRE STATION

The Antigua and Barbuda Fire Department says a repurposed facility will serve as the new location for a fire station in Coolidge. The station, located at the former US Naval Base, will become operational on Friday, February 13.

It will serve the communities including Coolidge, Barnes Hill, Hodges Bay, Royal Gardens, Cedar Grove and Cedar Valley.

The St John’s Fire Station has been hitherto responding to emergencies from these areas.

Fire officials are praising the government’s support in improving the department’s capacity to protect life and property.
