Road Management Plans Implemented

As we move closer to the busiest part of the Christmas season, a number of roadblocks and diversions have already been set in place by the police.

Assistant Superintendent of police Joseph Hughes explains that a management plan has been put in place by the police in order to assist in their efforts, and to clearly identify all of the risks to the travelling public.

One of the main thrusts of the initiative, Hughes adds, is to not only reduce collisions, but more importantly, to reduce the severity of the impacts.

Parking rules have also been implemented for the city, and Superintendent Hughes explains that they expect strict adherence.

As for the city outskirts and other environs, particularly where traffic lights are not functional, it is being advised that motorists exercise caution and common sense.

Pedestrians and motorists alike are also being advised not to remove the road blocks, as they may face fines for doing so.
