Sagicor Visionaries Challenge
Deputy Director of Education, Clare Brown in endorsing the Sagicor Visionaries Challenge says the advancement of the region is dependent on the fostering of out of the box thinking among students.
The Sagicor Visionaries Challenge has both local and regional components and the St. Joseph’s Academy Secondary School holds the distinction of being the first local champion, earning co-captain of the team, Michael Thomas a 7 day trip to Florida.
Sagicor launched the competition in 2013 in partnership with the Caribbean Science Foundation (CFC) and the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).
High school students are challenged to identify a problem facing their school or community and develop effective, innovative and sustainable solutions using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
