SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE IN CONTACT WITH ALL STUDENTS STUDYING IN CHINA

The Prime Minister’s Scholarship committee is in contact with all Antiguan and Barbudan students studying in China.
That’s according to Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ambassador Lionel Hurst who is also a member of the scholarship committee.
He tells ABS News the 102 students are well and receiving support.
Ambassador Hurst says prior to the outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, three of the students had been studying in Chinese city Wuhan, where the virus was first detected late last year.

He says some students have decided to return home and will be placed under quarantine for 14 days once they arrive.

The Chief of Staff says since the outbreak, the price of food has risen is some parts of China.
He says the scholarship committee is trying its best to supply additional resources to students who may be facing some hardship because of this.
