SENATORS COMMENT ON CANNABIS LICENSING FEE
While both sides in The Upper House agreed to The Cannabis Amendment Bill, there was some debate on the licensing fee for those interested in operating a medicinal marijuana business.
The fee is currently 325- thousand dollars and there are to be no waivers.
Government Senator Colin Browne says is justifiable because of the size of the island.
However, Opposition Senator Damani Tabor says the fee should be lowered allowing as many people as possible to enter the field.
Senator Tabor says the current fee deters people from trying their hand at entrepreneurship in this field.
