SERIOUS RISKS POSED BY RODENT INFESTATION

Leptospirosis and other lethal diseases are concerns of deadly proportions for Health Inspectors in this country.   

As a result, Central Board of Health Senior Public Health Inspector, Julienne Mannix, says the public should take rodent infestations seriously. 

She says people need to keep an eye out for signs of rat or mice infestation by checking for droppings, gnawing marks, bitten goods and, of course, the very presence of live or dead rats or mice. 

If you do have an infestation, she recommends contacting a licensed pest control operator to address the issue and encourages keeping surroundings clean. 

She was speaking as a guest on Tuesday’s edition of Antigua& Barbuda Today.
