Shooting in Point

The police are investigating a shooting incident in Point late Wednesday night that left a Barbuda man nursing a gunshot wound at the Mount St. Johns Medical Center (MSJMC).

It is alleged that 24 year old Denvil John was at home when his fiancé ran to him for assistance after she was allegedly attacked and beaten by her ex-lover.

Further reports are that while the young lady was recounting her ordeal to John, a man described to be dressed in all black clothing and wearing a mask, came up to them and shot John in his leg.

He was rushed to the Mount St. Johns Medical Center by the EMS along with his Fiancé for medical treatment. However, doctors at the hospital reported that the man’s injury is not life threatening, but required surgery.

The incident took place around 11:30pm Wednesday at Mariners Lane.
