SIR GERALD CALLS FOR NEW STANDING ORDERS
Speaker of Parliament’s Lower House, Sir Gerald Watt QC, has again called for new standing orders, which governs the proceedings in the chamber.
He reiterated the point on just before the adjournment of the House on Friday.
He said those new house rules could also include a sanction for MPs in certain circumstances.
Sir Gerald also pointed to the Prime Minister’s concern about the lack of punctuality in Parliament.
He stressed the need for MPs to ensure the proceedings begin on time at 9:30 going forward
