SPIN OFFS FROM UNIVERSITY TO BENEFIT THE COUNTRY & COMMUNITY
Principal and Pro Vice Chancellor Stafford A. Griffith says the spin offs from the university will greatly benefit the country.
He cited tourism and hospitality as examples.
Griffith says there’ll also be the need for greater efficiencies in delivering various kinds of services in the public and private sectors.
The Principal and Pro Vice Chancellor says a university should also contribute to the social development of a country where it’s not only about making more money or being materially better off.
He says without that investment in the campuses in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and in Jamaica, the current level of development in those countries would not have been realised.
Griffith says there are also economic spin offs for the community where there’s a need for all kinds of services.
Eating establishments he says is another avenue for business development.
