ST GEORGE CARETAKER ANNOUNCES HEIGHTENED SECURITY MEASURES AMID RECENT BREAK-INS
Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Caretaker for St George, Senator Michael Freeland, has deplored the actions of thieves who have targeted schools and other institutions in the constituency. The Pigotts Primary School is among the educational institutions affected, having been broken into three times since the start of the academic year.
Senator Freeland is resolute that these criminal acts are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. He has announced efforts to address the problem, including partnering with public agencies to install surveillance cameras throughout the constituency. He has also disclosed that community activist Bakesha James has donated funds to purchase surveillance cameras for the Pigotts Primary School.
Senator Freeland says he has also been assured by Attorney General and Public Safety Minister Sir Steadroy Benjamin of increased police patrols in the affected areas.
The ABLP Caretaker insists that “as a community, we will never relent in our efforts to maintain a safe environment where our children can learn and thrive without fear.”
