TEENAGER CHARGED WITH CHURCH BREAK-IN PLACED AT SECURED FACILITY
The 14-year-old boy, who’s been charged with sacrilege has been placed in a secured residential facility as legal proceedings begin in accordance with the Child Justice Act.
The Jennings teenager is accused of breaking into Jennings Wesleyan Holiness Church on three separate occasions between September and November last year.
He’s also blamed for break-ins at Bolans Pentecostal Church and Cedar Hall Moravian Church in October.
Yesterday, the teenager went before the Child Justice Board, which made initial inquiries into matter.
The Board, which meets Mondays and Thursdays, is headed by Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards and includes a pastor and two social workers.
