The Appointment Of Anthony Stuart Has Been Revoked

Anthony Stuart who sits on the opposition bench in the Senate has been booted from the Upper House.

Sources in the opposition United Progressive Party confirm that Stuart was informed by way of a letter that effective September 30, 2015, he will no longer serve in the Senate.

The letter from leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives, Hon Baldwin Spencer, thanked Stuart for his contributions to the party over the years and also wished him well.
Stuart was appointed to the Senate by Spencer following the 2014 general elections. Back in 2013, he was booted from the Senate by Spencer for failing to support the Citizenship By Investment bill that the UPP had introduced to parliament.
UPP sources could not confirm suggestions that UPP Leader, Harold Lovell, will replace Stuart in the Upper House.
Observers however view this latest development as growing signs of a deepening rift between the UPP leadership and member of parliament, Hon Joanne Massiah. Stuart was one of Massiah’s senior advisers during the campaign for party leadership.
