The National Festivals Commission Is One Step Closer

The National Festivals Commission is one step closer to becoming a fully functioning body.
Minister Greene says this move will enable a more professional and organized approach to the staging of festivals, especially Antigua’s Carnival, dubbed the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival.

He adds that the full composition of the commission will be finalized shortly.Greene says that major stakeholder groups that are involved in the carnival festivities will also play a role in the entity’s final decision making.
He says discussions will take place over the upcoming weeks to fully establish the mandate of the commission. In addition, Greene says the whole notion of volunteerism where festivals are concerned, need to be established.
