The Police Are Reporting A Quiet Holiday Weekend…But Fire Services Have Been Kept Busy.
The Police are reporting that the Easter Holidays have been quiet so far.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Superintendent Clayton Davis, is crediting the new anti-crime measures instituted by Acting Commissioner, Wendell Robinson, for helping to keep criminal activities in check.
Davis says the increased presence of police officers on the streets of St John’s and in patrols in several hot-spot communities, form an integral part of the plan.
He notes that establishing good working relationships with communities and neighbourhood watch groups are also part of the strategic measures being implemented.
The C-I-D head is hoping that the remaining two days of the holiday period will continue to be crime and incident free.
