The United Progressive Party (UPP) continues to press its demands for a lower gas price of at least $10 a gallon.

The party also wants fuel variation on electricity bills reduced to 24 cents per unit.
The UPP took its messageto the street, outside the office of the Antigua Public Utilities Authority on Wednesday morning.

ABS caught up with the Leader of the Opposition, Baldwin Spencer. He said the demonstration sought to help bring relief to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

Spencer added that the protest was a peaceful action and an exercise of the party’s democratic right.
When ABS News contacted the Antigua Public Utilities Authority to get a response, Public Relations Officer Floree Whyte explained that it is one’s democratic right to freedom of expression.
Whyte further explained that and the Authority takes and adheres to Government’s instructions.
