THREE ATHLETES IN COMMONWEALTH CONTINGENT TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID
Three of the nation’s athletes in Birmingham, England for the Commonwealth Games have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of Thursday’s opening ceremony.
The trio will now be subjected to a test-to-release process.
Antigua and Barbuda has 13 athletes competing in four disciplines: athletics, swimming, boxing and cycling.
Chef de Mission Joel Rayne provided the update from Birmingham, noting the diagnosis has already torpedoed the participation of one of the athletes in the games.
