Three Days of ABST Reductions Announced

The Cabinet has approved a Christmas Relief Package to ease the cost of living and support families and businesses this holiday season. The Christmas Barrel Initiative returns December 1 to January 15, 2026. Households pay only a $10 processing fee and 10% RRC on imported items.

ABST has also been dropped to 7% for one weekend – December 19–21 – to boost holiday shopping. In addition, the government has removed duties and taxes on imported hams, turkeys, and whole chickens until December 25 to help reduce Christmas meal costs. Government officials say the measures will help families stretch their budgets, support local businesses, and keep the economy moving during the busy season.
