Three in Police Custody Following Large Seizure of Ammunition

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Friday, 1 August 2025

The police have arrested three people following the execution of a search warrant that led to the discovery of a significant quantity of ammunition and firearm accessories.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 31 July 2025, officers attached to the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit (GAGSU) executed a search warrant at a property in Sutherlands, and during the search, the following items were discovered and seized:

Eleven (11) 12-gauge shotgun rounds,

Seven (7) 9mm rounds,

Thirty-six (36) 7.62mm rounds, Twenty (20) .22 rounds, Twenty-three (23) .45 rounds, Eighteen (18) .44 rounds, Seventeen (17) .25 rounds, Nine (9) .38 rounds,

Two (2) Smith & Wesson magazines, One (1) Glock 9mm magazine,

One (1) Smith & Wesson .40 caliber magazine, One (1) Sig Sauer 9mm magazine,

One (1) “Patent Pending” 9mm/.40SW speed loader, and One (1) flat-back Chinese AK-47 magazine.

As a result of the operation, a 30-year-old, 27-year-old, and 19-year-old, all of Sutherlands, were arrested and taken to the St. John’s Police Station along with the items seized.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda remains committed to reducing the circulation of illegal firearms and ammunition across the nation.
