TOURISM MINISTER CALLS FOR REGIONAL UNITY AS MELISSA PUMMELS JAMAICA, CUBA, BAHAMAS

Tourism Minister Hon. Charles Fernandez is acknowledging the onslaught of Hurricane Melissa on Jamaica, noting that the Caribbean shares not just culture but vulnerability to storms.

Melissa slammed into Jamaica as a monstrous category 5 hurricane on Tuesday, before pummelling eastern Cuba and southern Bahamas.

He emphasizes the importance of regional unity amidst the perils of the of the hurricane season for the Caribbean.

The Minister was speaking on Tuesday at the launch of Antigua and Barbuda’s culinary team for Taste of the Caribbean in Barbados next month.
