TOURISM MINISTER RESPONDS TO DIVERSIFICATION CONCERNS

Tourism Minister Hon. Charles Fernandez is responding to concerns the country relies too heavily on the tourism sector.
He says economic diversification is difficult for small island developing states.
Plans are afoot he says to expand the country’s ability to stimulate the economy using the tourism dollar.
The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association is a trade organization composed of 22 member cruise lines operating nearly 200 vessels in Floridian, Caribbean and Latin American waters.
The tourism ministry he says, also intends to increase the presence of locally produced items in the hotels.
